y current position is an Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor. I had the LASIK surgery in September 1999. This surgery has helped me in both my professional and personal life.

Before the surgery , I never wore my glasses. I disliked contacts as they were uncomfortable, so I went around the Courthouse unable to see. Personally, I love to play sports, especially golf, however I had to always wear my glasses. It was such a pain in 90 degree weather to wear glasses and try and hit a golfball.

All my friends started having this procedure called LASIK surgery. They were half blind wearing coke bottle glasses and a day later they were at work or playing golf and telling me how great they could see without their glasses.

Unfortunately, I am a diabetic and as a result I thought I would never be a candidate for LASIK. That myth was dispelled by the Drs. at The Eye Centers when I went in for a six month check up. They showed me a video and gave me some information. The next week I was sitting in the operating room within 15 minutes, I went home and threw out my glasses.

Now I can see great and I have 20/20 vision. I can run, play golf, and walk around the courtroom and see every detail I never knew existed. This surgery is great!! It changed my life and is worth every penny. However, my golf game still stinks. I guess it was not the glasses.

he LASIK procedure is the BEST thing I ever did! I can tell what time it is when I wake up in the middle of the night. I can also take care of my children if they wake up at night, without taking the time to put in my contacts or search for my glasses. I also had occasional problems with my contacts sliding around in my eye when I was driving. There were even time that I would have to pull over to the side of the road to try to fix my contacts. It was very dangerous. As for fun, I can now swim and see everything without the fear of losing my contacts in the water. I used to avoid water parks and whitewater rafting before my LASIK procedure, but not anymore!

s a firefighter/paramedic, I respond to many different emergencies at all hours of the day, during all kinds of weather, with possible high temperatures, and smoke or other irritants in the air. For example, my vision during firefighting actions is limited to start with by my protective equipment, smoke, darkness, and inclement weather; therefore, having excellent vision prior to entering these less than favorable environments provides me with the opportunity to perform my duties without relying on contacts or glasses. Laser vision correction has allowed me to perform my job without being concerned about poor vision due to contact lenses falling out, dry contacts needing lubrication drops, or steamed up glasses.

On a personal level, laser vision correction has allowed me to play sports, work in the yard, and spend time at the beach on vacation with the family. Also, getting up in the middle of the night with my five-month-old son is much easier with laser vision correction than having to fumble with corrective lenses.

Laser vision correction is a procedure I would recommend. I encourage you to call and find out what options are available to you. Laser vision correction allows you to see the world without the hassle of corrective lenses.

n my first visit to The Fairview Eye & Laser Center I was thoroughly informed of the laser procedure and all of the risks and benefits. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns about the surgery.

On the day of my LASIK procedure I was very confident in Dr. Caravella and his staff. It was a very simple procedure from my point of view. I was only in the operating room for 15 minutes. The postoperative care was extremely good.

The benefits of the surgery have been many. The summer of 1999 I was in 5 golf tournaments and had the best year ever. I won more than enough money to pay for this operation. I feel my quality of life has improved significantly because of LASIK. I had worn contact lenses for 33 years and now I do not have the discomfort or distraction of wearing corrective eyewear. I have recommended the procedure to many of my friends and they now enjoy the comforts and benefits that I do. The LASIK procedure was by far the best thing that I have done for myself!
